From the Pastor-July/August 2017
"How is your garden growing?"
This year I am very excited about my garden. From my tomato plants to my corn they are growing wonderfully. I cannot wait to be able to harvest the ripe vegetables when they are ready. However, when I went away the garden had a real growth spurt and I needed to tend to it and spend some time to manicure the garden so it doesn't just grow wild. My garden is a work in progress which needs ongoing grooming. Proper grooming brings about healthy plants.
So let me ask you, "How is your spiritual garden growing?"

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is the Law of the Lord, and on His Law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields it fruit in season and whose
leaf leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does he prospers. (Psalm 1:1-3)

I realize that my spiritual garden needs to be manicured like my vegetable garden, so that I can grow mature and ripe fruit. The summertime is a good time for each of us to reflect and take time to spend time growing in the Lord. My prayer is that we will all be like the Psalmists writes, "Trees planted by streams of water." Living, Growing, Yielding; Kingdom fruit in season.
